About the Boat House

The boat house is located on the East Coast Road, 36km to the south of Mamallapuram and 92km from Chennai. This backwater boating site offers many water sports like banana boating, kayaking, and water scootering, apart from regular pedal and motor boats. The highlight of this boat house is an island located on Odiyur Lake, which is 4 km from the Raindrop boat house and accessible only by boat. After 15 to 20 minutes of boat travel, you can reach the island and spend 2 to 3 hours there. On boat trips, you can spot many varieties of birds. There is no food court on the island. If you order food from Raindrop Boat House, they will drop your order off at the island.
