Sandunes Paradise Beach Pondicherry is another place for you to explore in the backwaters of chunnambar in its south end. Even though Pondicherry has more beaches, Sandunes beach has its place among visitors. It is 13 km from white town and 6 km from Ariyankuppam. And 5 km from the chunnambar boathouse. Ariyankuppam already has lots to explore like Ruby beach, Eden beach, Diamond beach, Arikemedu, Arts and crafts village with Will’s boathouse, chunnambar boathouse, Ocean Park. The Sandunes is not far from these tourist spots, it is just 5kms from chunnambar.

How to reach?.
On route from Ariyankuppam to Thavalakuppam, you have to take a left in Pooranakuppam village. The roads are good but 1 km near the beach, the road is bumpy. It’s best for you to take your car or two-wheelers. There are lots of shops which rent 2 wheelers for 200 or 300 rupees. No Public transport is available to Sandunes beach. On the road, first comes the RKN resort, then Le Pondy. And at last, comes the Sandunes beach, there is a good parking place near the backwaters.

Good place for water activities.
The beautiful entrance invites you inside the beach, as you enter, there is a ticket counter. It costs Rs.70 for adults and free for kids, and it is well explained for what they collect the price. Your money is collected to maintain a safe and clean beach. It is collected to provide you with facilities like washrooms, toilets, showers and change rooms.
They provide you with a wrist tag with the beach name on it. A cement interlocked pavement leads you inside, with a grass field, bushes, and palm trees.
