About the Birla Planetarium
The Birla Planetarium has a science center, a Planetarium, a Sky theatre, and a science park. The Planetarium was established in 1983 with 500 exhibits. You can explore exhibits like ocean life, defense research, nuclear power, portraits of various scientists and astronauts, a science park with solar energy, wind energy, and biogas energy displayed, observing the night sky, etc.

There are separate tickets are different places. But if you get a combo ticket of Rs 80 for adults and Rs 40 for Children you can visit all places. The Combo Ticket covers Periyar Science, Birla Planetarium, Science Park, and 3D Science Movie. The entry fee for Sky Theatre is Rs 60. Birla Planetarium Timings is 10:00 AM to 5:45 PM. But Sky theatre English show timings are 10.45 AM, 1.15 PM, 3.45 PM. And Tamil show timings are at 12.00 PM, 2.30 PM, 4.30 PM. Sky Theatre
This is a 180-degree hemispherical theatre. The show explains the solar system, sky, seasons, eclipses, man on the moon, earth, comets, shooting meteoroids, stellar cycle, and deep sky. The show is for 45 mins. If you have an interest in planets, then this is a must-visit place for you.

An interesting fact about this planetarium is it shows your weight on different Planets. Suppose your weight is 80 kg on Earth, then it displays how much you weigh on Venus, Mercury, and other planets. Some points are also available.
